Offers apartments for the elderly, ages 55 and older.
Located in the heart of Downtown Houma.

Provides a homeless transit shelter with bunk beds and
washroom. Meals on Monday, Wednesday and Friday. Worship services on Thursday. Cost per person averages $10.00 per night.

There are 306 units available in the Public Housing Authority Developments. MCHA also has Section 8 Vouchers. The Section 8 Program, or the Housing Assistance Program (HAP), is designed to help low and moderate income families rent privately-owned
housing. The rental subsidy is paid directly to the
property owner or designated payee each month. This program is available to a limited number of families and allows them to pay approximately 30% to 40% of their income towards their monthly rent. The program pays the balance of the rent directly to the landlord in the form of a monthly check.

Provides shelter for domestic violence victims.

Provides housing assistance to low income residents
through the management of Low Rent Public Housing.
This program is income based and the eligibility
guidelines are set by HUD.There may be waiting lists for these rentals and at times the lists may close to new applicants based on the size of and length of wait on the
lists.

Normandy Village II is located in La Place, Louisiana. This
Low Income Housing (LIH) project has been in service
since 1988 and has a total of 36 low income units, which
is slightly less than other LIH properties

groups and mental health groups. Transportation is also provided to other appointments.

Provides low-income site housing in St. John Parish
(HUD funded).
